New Year, New Stuff

Posted on by dan schlitzkus

To start the new year we had an art show in my hometown of Auburn Washington at the Auburn Events Center. Jan - March.

Also, trying out some new methods. Looking at new t-shirt designs this year as well as laser etching. Exciting stuff for sure.

That is all.

Have a fantastic 2017!

Jet City Comic Con Submission

Posted on by dan schlitzkus

Hey O!

Working on a program cover for the Jet City Comic Con here in Tacoma. It's a contest. I usually don't do contests, but I had some time to play around. Had a blast channeling my best Michael Cho and trying out this style of 4 colors. It was a fun experiment regardless. Enjoy and keep your fingers crossed.

Outfoxed

Hello friends.

Check out these new paper crafts from Proyetco Ensamble in Chile I made. This one will fit right over your head, plus turn your cool factor up to 11. And you might get called "foxy". Which would be compliment.

I'll let you know when these are available to purchase. Probably not in time for Halloween unfortunately. Next Halloween, yes!

Microsoft Easter Egg

Posted on by dan schlitzkus

On Microsoft.com we made an easter egg for 8 bit day! We wanted to celebrate Developer's Day, 8 Bit Day and 30 years of Mario without interfering with the homepage content. Someone on our team suggested the Konami Cheat Code (Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A) to activate the hidden page. It was only online for 2 days on the weekend (9/12-14).

The response from the internet was rad. The Verge, Business Insider, Softpedia, Tech Times and more.

Special Olympics

I had a pleasant surprise the other day when I received a email from the Microsoft Brand Team including a video from the Los Angeles Special Olympics. I created a group of special athletes for banners and animations. We got a nice little compliment from the announcer about our banners - or murals as he described.

Merry Christmas!

Wrap your gifts with this handy wrapping paper! Yes. Because there's not a day that goes by that you shouldn't mention Danny Schlitz to someone. Anyone!

Imagine. They see your gift under the tree with this lovely wrapping paper! Wow. As they open the gift and immediately drop it to the ground to admire your choice in wrapping paper stock.

So Happy Holidays and a Somber New Year from the crew of one, Danny Schlitz!

PS: Leave some cookies and milk out for me tonight.
